Album Review: Pile - Dripping

Pile is signed to an unfortunately underground label known as "Exploding In Sound" The catchy melodies, witty progressions, and unique song structures on their new album, Dripping, are unrivaled by any other artist that I have ever heard before. It is a bit of s shame that I have only seen this record discussed in one place on the internet. This album's greatest quality is how musically satisfying it is. Many of the chord changes are totally unpredictable, as well as musically and theoretically illegal. Despite Pile's complete disregard for standard music theory principles, all of the songs sound as if they are meant to be. I find myself experiencing an ongoing "Aha!" moment everytime I listen to this record. Not only is the music on this record good, but so are the lyrics and lyrical delivery. The frustration and anger bellowing from the lead vocalist is more than enough to keep me happy. If you like hardcore, punk, and/or alternative music; you will love this record.

9/10
