Cloud Nothings are a solid emo/punk/rock act from Clevenland. Likewise, Attack On Memory is a solid emo/punk/rock album. The clever chord progressions and relatable lyrics are all there. It starts with two dark and retrospective tracks, "No Future/No past" and "Wasted Days". These two tracks prime examples of the emo influence on this record. The rest of the album is, for the most part, simply awesome punk songs. The lead singer delivers an incredibly ear piercing performance on both tracks. In fact, the vocals are one of the most defining characteristics of this record. The tone of voice used is very recognizable. The lyrics, though simple, are easy to identify with. The majority of this album seems to work on the listener in the same way that 90's Green Day and Blink-182 did. Simple concepts about being dissatisfied with life, women, etc. Steve Albini did a great job making the band's sound rich and full. Every instrument sounds great in the mix. Overall, this album is a fantastic rock album. Not to mention, a great step forward for the band since their last release.
8/10
